Well established specialist lending bank, strongly positioned in the broker-introduced business marketplace. They offer many USP’s in this competitive arena. They have solid growth plans, and now have a newly created underwriting position to support their growing business volumes. You would be working alongside a small experienced credit team to support the Head of Credit Asset Finance. Requires at least 3 years experience in a similar underwriting position, with good exposure to flow lending and the SME market. Knowledge of lending principles, credit analysis and underwriting methodologies for small ticket transactions. Managing and approving deals up to around £150k, but will also manage some larger applications, to say £500k. Main focus on business critical assets ie commercial vehicles, coaches, haulage, materials handling, machinery, and also including a fair proportion of high-end/classic car finance (Ferraris/ Porches etc). Building close relationships with brokers and customers. Ensuring the quality of new business proposals and their portfolio, with full compliance of lending policies, and delivering timely credit decisions. Applicants likely to be living around Hampshire/Berkshire, though good hybrid working is available.

Our client, major Bank, requires an experienced credit analyst to underwrite deals across various sectors/assets. Analyse credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit in mainly sales-aid leasing/flow business. Interpret internal and external credit reference agency, broker and market reports. Generate financial ratios, using internal credit tools, to evaluate financial status and where necessary undertake benchmarking to compare liquidity, profitability and credit history of customers within a similar industry and geographic locations. Prepare domestic and external risk reports. Review existing transactions periodically, and regularly update their internal systems for risk monitoring. Make recommendations for the ongoing development of processes and practices. Reports to their Risk Team Leader. Good hybrid working options.

Wholly owned subsidiary of a well established City based bank. Supporting small and medium sized enterprises and high net worth individuals. Mainly broker-introduced business, managing close working relationships with a wide broker panel. Main focus on financing critical assets ie. commercial plant & machinery, coaches, commercial vehicles; but assets also includes some higher value private cars. Seeking an experienced underwriter to evaluate, analyse and approve credit proposals and revisions to underwrite structured finance deals and maintain the portfolio through a consistent level of credit risk assessment. Provide commercially balanced recommendations where new business applications are above your personal mandate. Assist with the preparation of credit papers for submission to their Credit Committee. Process new business proposals with a high level of service to brokers, suppliers and customers within strict time deadlines. Maintain an awareness of compliance with legal processes and statutory requirements. Attending meetings (some virtual) with key brokers at Sales request, to make the difference with positive discussions/ negotiation on transactions. Very flexible on applicants location - having to attend their offices only occasionally.

Mix of programmes, dealership/reseller business and broker introduced. Hi-Tech through to Transport, Construction and Industry. 60% IT (some Medical/Renewables/Green), 40% Hard Assets. Managing around 5 deals a day. Joining an existing team of 7 experienced Risk Non-Flow Managers. Top analyse credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit for middle-ticket transactions. Interpret internal and external credit reference agency, broker and market reports. Generate financial ratios, using internal credit tools, to evaluate financial status and where necessary undertake benchmarking to compare liquidity, profitability and credit history of customers within a similar or the same industry and geographic locations. Use collateral curve analysis in line with market, sector, and portfolio considerations. Review current exposures as well as non-current customer/supplier/ third party introductory sources. Reports to their Head of Credit. Offices in Greater London, but offering good hybrid working options.
